AFDS is comprised exclusively of Fire Door Inspectors.

NFPA-80 adherence differs from your Fire Life Safety System in that it deals strictly with proper function and compliance of all swinging fire doors and their frames, not just those attached to the Fire Life Safety System.

We specialize exclusively in fire door inspection!

NFPA-80 requires inspections to be carried out by professional individuals with an understanding of fire rated door assemblies.

The 2003 Rhode Island 'Station Nightclub' tragedy left 100 people dead and became the crucial event that led to the enactment of annual fire door inspections.

NFPA-80, Section 5.2.1 states, "Fire door assemblies should be inspected and tested not less than annually, and a written record of the inspection should be signed and kept for inspection by the AHJ."  (Authority Having Jurisdiction)

A new Fire Code is in effect mandating the annual inspection of all fire doors.
